For the design of this new conference processor we started with two principles. We wanted the starting point to be the UI - hardware was secondary - and we wanted to make deployment simple and configuration easy to access. With the IT expert as the primary persona for this product we decided to use a deployment pattern that she was familiar with – the web-based configuration tool. But unlike many other web-based tools, we wanted to design something visual and beautiful. We started with a simple map of the product that immediately highlighted the product capability and made navigation and exploration simple and inviting.
